Larry "Mike" Michael Kidd

Mike Kidd passed away peacefully at his home in Earlysville, on October 6, 2023. He was born on November 17, 1952, to Vernon and Irene Kidd of Nelson County, VA.

Mike is survived by his wife Becky Kidd, his brother Donald Kidd, two half-sisters – Betty White and Peggy Mawyer, best friend Trudy Yates, a number of nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends.

For nearly five decades, Mike was well known as the owner of the Men’s and Boys’ Shop, the oldest men’s clothing store in Charlottesville. Many of his customers will miss him tremendously, just as he missed his customers in the last months of his life when his illness made returning to the store impossible. He was also a lover of all animals and always enjoyed the company of his Maine Coons and other feline friends.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Cat Action Team of Charlottesville (catactionteam.org).

A a celebration of life for Mike will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Teague Funeral Home, 2260 Ivy Rd, Charlottesville, Virginia 22903.
