Leroy Allen Smith

January 6, 1961 - November 28, 2024

2 Timothy 4:7 reads – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

On November 28, 2024, LeRoy Allen Smith, of Scottsville, Virginia, departed his earthly life and began his life in eternity where there is no more sickness or pain for him. LeRoy was surrounded by his 3 sons and his beloved wife of 40 years, Sherry.

LeRoy leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Frank and Gloria Smith of Wilmington, North Carolina; his wife, Sherry Jordan Smith; his 3 sons, Brandon Smith of Scottsville, Virginia, Joshua Smith and his wife, Mildred and their son, Donovan Elijah Smith Lima of Forest, Virginia and Jordan Smith and his fiancé, Erica and their daughter Ruby Isabella Smith of Palmyra, Virginia. LeRoy is also survived by 11 sisters-in-law and 5 brothers-in-law, several aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews, including Dillon Smith and Emery Smith of Wilmington, North Carolina, also many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his family, LeRoy is also survived by his beloved godson, Clayton Thompson of Shipman, Virginia.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his brother, Stuart Smith; his maternal and paternal grandparents and one very precious granddaughter, Adaline Smith Lima.

LeRoy enjoyed hunting with his father and brother. He also enjoyed fishing with his sons. Even when they would be throwing rocks and splashing the water.

LeRoy served his country for two years in the United States Navy, graduating from their Nuclear Power Program. He retired from the workforce in 2010 due to health troubles.

Our family is grateful for all the love and support they have been shown during this very difficult time.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am – 11:00am on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Teague Funeral Service, 2260 Ivy Road Charlottesville VA 22903. A Celebration of LeRoy’s Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Teague Funeral Service.
