She worked as a registered nurse at Camden Hospital in the emergency room, taking care of countless friends, family, and community members.

She married her beloved, Calvin Lyndall Fisher (Lyn) on June 10th, 1960 at First Baptist Church, Lugoff, SC , and moved to Waynesboro, Virginia upon Lyn’s transfer with DuPont. She travelled all over the world, spending three years in Dordrecht, Holland and one and a half years in Isfahan, Iran with Lyn’s DuPont overseas work assignments. She was a proud member of the “Seashell Sisters” – a close-knit circle of 8 women bonded through Christ in love and friendship. She was an avid fan of UVA’s womens basketball, and a season ticket holder for many years. She loved playing the piano, and tending to her many plants and flowers. She fiercely loved her family, her friends, her pets (Pal and Frisky), and most of all her Heavenly Father. She was the epitome of Romans 12:9 – “Let your Love be Genuine”.
