Linda Virginia Woodie Ballowe

Linda Virginia Woodie Ballowe was born on July 12th, 1947 at the home of her late parents, Hazel Virginia Townsend Woodie and Rome Alfred Woodie in Crumptown, Virginia.
Preceded in death by her brother Thomas Woody, her faithful, and loving Husband Billy Wayne Ballowe, a daughter, Deanna Lynn Ballowe Barnes.

Linda is survived by a sister Peggy Hudgins (husband Fred), a brother Larry Woodie (wife, Betty Lou), a sister Wanda Baird (late husband Harvey Lee Baird) a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Ballowe Snoddy, (husband Russell) and a son, Franklin Eugene Ballowe. (Numerous nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren).

Linda was married on April 9th, 1966 to Billy who was shortly thereafter drafted by the US Army to serve in Vietnam. They shared a beautiful life together celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary before Billy went home to glory on August 5th, 2021 just 2 years ago.

Linda graduated from Buckingham County High School in 1965. Linda had many titles and talents as a loving mother of 3. She became a military wife, worked for the Highway Department, worked as a seamstress, became a Kindergarten Teacher, and taught a Sunday school class as well as her own daycare in her own home for many years as children were naturally drawn to her loving and caring ways. She worked as a florist for a local business near her home and enjoyed making wreaths, crafts, and stamping cards for friends and family, crocheting, but most of all singing for the Lord!

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at 12 years old and has always loved singing and praising the Lord! She sang in churches with her family as music was always a part of her life. Linda will be greatly missed for her love of cooking and faithful devotion to family and friends and praising her Savior Jesus Christ in song. What a testimony and legacy of love she left us all.

Visitation for Linda will be Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Teague Funeral Service 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA, 22903. Funeral Services will be on Friday August 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Colonial Baptist Church, 4218 Richmond Road, Keswick, VA 22947, followed by Interment at Holly Memorial Gardens.
