Linda Carol Samuels Koch
Linda Carol Samuels Koch, 72 of Stanardsville, Va., passed away on February 5, 2024 after a brief illness. She was born on June 27, 1951 to the late W. Gaither Samuels and Arlene Breeden Samuels. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Michael D. Koch and brother-in-law, Randolph (Ralph) Gibson.
Linda graduated from William Monroe High School, attended the University of Mary Washington, and retired from the University of Virginia after 45 years as the billing manager for the Plastic Surgery Department. She liked camping with her family, antiquing, reading mysteries, and needlework. She was an animal lover and always had multiple fur babies. Most importantly, she was a Christian and was a member of and Sunday School teacher for Liberty Baptist Church – Middle River for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen D. Koch and wife Wendy, Anthony Michael Koch and husband Theo Sutphin; grandson, Benjamin S. Koch; step-grandchildren, Crystal Kidwell and husband Jon, Devin, Maggie, Liam, Colin, and Eian Sutphin; sister and confidant, co-pilot, and best friend, Marsha S. Gibson; sister-in-law, Sandi Koch Milton and husband Rick; brother-in-law, Barry Betts and wife Sylvia; nephews, Travis Gibson and wife Jessie; great nephew, Joseph Gibson; great-niece, Caitlyn Ryder; and many other nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison. She will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Cemetery on Liberty Loop, Middle River, Stanardsville, Va. Pastor Josh Shifflett will officiate.
