Linda Sharff, Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Educator, Passes Away at 80Ruckersville, VA – Linda Marie Sharff, a cherished educator and loving family member, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, in Charlottesville, VA. She was 80 years old.Born on September 22, 1944, in Washington, D.C., to Julian and Marie Georgie, Linda graduated from Washington & Lee High School in Arlington, VA. She later graduated from Longwood University and dedicated three decades of her life to teaching third and fourth grade at Maybeury Elementary School in Henrico County, Virginia.Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard (Rich) Lee Sharff; her two sons, Richard Jr. (Richie) and Jeff, and their wives, Dawn and Tami; her brother, Edward; her sisters, Helen and Sharon; and her cherished granddaughters, Ashley, Abby, Julia, Alex, and Livi.Linda was extraordinarily humble and selfless, and she lived her life in service of others, especially her family and students. When she wasn't taking care of others, she was usually found reading a good book or working in her flower gardens. She also loved watching the birds who visited her bird baths and feeders. To her friends and family, she was simply Linda. However, to her immediate family, especially her granddaughters, she will forever be known as “Bud,” a heartwarming nickname bestowed upon her by her husband, Rich. Their enduring love story, beginning as high school sweethearts, exemplified the depth of their bond as husband and wife and best friends.A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the MS Society in Linda’s memory.The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at The Barclays of Charlottesville’s memory care unit and Legacy Hospice Care for their compassionate care during Linda’s final days.
