Lucy Margaret McCauley

Lucy Margaret McCauley went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 17,
2023 at UVA Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

She was the daughter of Benjamin and Lois Gibson of Charlottesville, VA and was born November 1, 1946.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Lois "sis" Gibson, Brother Lewis Gibson, her son Brian Keith McCauley and her best friend Linda Dale "Short" Morris.

She is survived by her brother William Gibson, Buck Gibson, and sister Lois Sandridge (Tommy Sandridge), daughter Jeanie M. Thompson (Pete Guilford); grandchildren Brandon Thompson, Gabriel Thompson, Brittany Barker and Ashley Gentry (Jonathan Gentry) and great grandchildren Savannah Shifflett, Cayden Tomlin, and Brian (Boogie) Shifflett. She also leaves behind two special friends Judy "Bucky" McCauley and Dannielle Shifflett.

Lucy enjoyed spending time with her daughter on their crazy adventures and spending time with her grandsons and friends.

She will be remembered as never meeting a stranger and her compassion for others.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday 23rd, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. held at Good Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church located at 7420 Mission Home Road, Free Union, VA 22940.
