Marcia Bradford Hutchinson
Marcia Bradford Hutchinson of Charlottesville departed this life on December 17, 2024. Born on December 20, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Dewey Bradford and Lula Salmons Bradford of Huntington, West Virginia.
Marcia is survived by her husband Ronald Wayne Hutchinson of Charlottesville, her daughter Melissa Ann Wall (David), her granddaughter Catherine Victoria Wall and her sister Artha Dee Bradford-Smith, all of the Atlanta, Georgia area. Additional survivors include her brother-in-law Greg Hutchinson and his wife Joyce of Charlottesville.
Marcia grew up in Huntington, West Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marshall University where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. In 1967 she began a teaching career which would span over two and a half decades, the majority of which were with the Charlottesville City Schools. She taught Spanish at Walker Middle School and Charlottesville High School, where she served as foreign language department chair for a number of years. As a clinical instructor with the University of Virginia she mentored a number of beginning teachers during those years.
Marcia attended Christ Episcopal Church. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her devotion to her loved ones, her faith in her God, her courage in the face of many health adversities and her love of fashion. At her request there will be no services.
