Margaret Longley Watson

Margaret Longley Watson, 90 of Ruckersville, Va. passed away on February 10, 2024 after a brief illness. She was born on June 10, 1933 to the late Grace Breeden Longley an Ursher Longley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Watson; sisters, Alma Longley, Blanche Likens, Jeannie Roberts; brothers, Carl Longley and Donald Longley.

She is survived by her daughter, Lorna Gipson (Danny); her granddaughters, Jessica Spain (Sean) and Leslie Wade (Kyle); three great-grandchildren that she adored, Charlie and Sydney Wade and Brayden Spain; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank Sentara and UVA, Dr. John McGovern, Medi Home Hospice, Greene County EMS, and Jean McDorman for all the compassionate care given to her over the years. The family would also like to thank everyone for all the phone calls and texts.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating. All are welcome to attend.

Family and friends will celebrate Margaret’s life at a later date.
