Margaret Morris Carroll

Margaret Morris Carroll, 99, passed peacefully into the realm of glory on December 1, 2023. Margaret’s zest for life was unmatched. She dearly loved her family and friends, staying in frequent contact with those friends she left in Holly Hill, South Carolina when she returned to Charlottesville after the death of her beloved husband Earl. Margaret kept us all updated on the happenings in Holly Hill and spoke of her friends as if we were all acquainted.

Margaret was born July 10, 1924 in Albemarle County to Charles and Carrie Morris.

Margaret and Earl lived many happy years in Holly Hill working for the XO Bunch Organization. They established many lasting and loving friendships in the community; thinking of them all as family. She took great joy in recounting their parties, barbecues, and trips to the beach.

Margaret was never far from her family. She would drop everything at a moments notice and drive from South Carolina to Charlottesville if there was a family member in need.

Margaret lived each day to the fullest. She loved outings with her family and friends.

Her keen mind and dry wit served her well until the very end. She was blessed with a long and happy life. All who knew her felt blessed to have had her as a friend.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Earl Carroll, her parents, her sister Gwin Armstrong and her brothers Earnest and Waddell Morris.

She is survived by her sister Gladys Carol Hoff, her cousin Charlotte M. Beasley, her niece Debbie Lynch,her nephew Vincent Armstrong and a host of cousins.
