Marilyn Rose Simpson

June 11, 1958 - July 10, 2023

Marilyn Rose Simpson, 65, entered into eternal rest July 10, 2023. As the waves return to the sea, the angel who blessed us with her life and love returned home into the loving arms and paws of family, friends, and pets who preceded her. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Jack; son Brandon & wife Samantha; daughter Shana & husband Rey; son Johnny & wife Rebecca; and son Ben; grandchildren, Aaden, Layla, Jorah, and Schala; siblings, Regina, Buddy, and Freddy; numerous nieces and nephews; cherished doggies, Sugar and Maverick; and grand-dogs, Ickis, Lydia, and Jackie.

Marilyn enjoyed the comfort of being home surrounded by her beloveds. Whether it was reading a book, flipping through old family photos, watching her favorite TV shows, listening to good tunes, or cooking and enjoying a meal with family, to her, the simple life was the path to joy. She loved perusing old thrift shops for a good haul and turning it around on eBay. She was ever the beach girl and adored the beauty of the seashore, the serenity of the salty ocean breezes, and the comforting sound of the breaking waves upon the sands. She cherished animals and rescued countless beautiful creatures that others had abandoned, welcoming them lovingly into her heart and home. If she could have, she would have rescued them all. Before and above all things, Marilyn’s truest love was for that of her family. Each day for her was a lucky star counted in gratitude for the blessings of her children and grandchildren, and, of course, the devotion of her husband, the love and light of her life, and unwavering champion in sickness and health.

Marilyn was a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, but more than that, she was an angel who was given time on this Earth to show the rest of us what it means to love and be loved. She heralded the good news of compassion, she was a messenger for the greatest good, and a paragon of human-heartedness. She believed in the power of prayer and she believed in love. We mourn her loss, we carry on with broken hearts, but, we will walk fearlessly in paths of light as Marilyn would have us do. In her name and memory, we will keep believing in love.

A celebration of her life will be held graveside, Friday July 14, 2023 at 2:00PM at Panorama Natural Burial Cemetery with a reception to follow at the residence. The family asks that attendees dress comfortably for warm weather (i.e. polo shirts and jeans). In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the ASPCA online at https://secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial.

Condolences may be made to her family on the Tribute Wall.
