Marion June Rosson

June 21, 1921 - October 7, 2023

Marion June Rosson, age 92, of Louisa, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023.

The oldest of six children, she was born on June 21, 1931, in Orange County, Virginia, to the late Robert Floyd Carver and Maude Jane Carver. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Rosson; daughter, Brenda “Joy” Sharp; brother, Bobby Floyd Carver; and sister, Helen Sue Pence.

Marion, also known to many as "June," was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, caregiver, and friend. As the oldest of her five siblings, she was definitely the leader of the pack. During her years as a home daycare provider, she gained many “extra” kids who over the years came to know and love her by the name, “Mama June.” She was such a calming presence, showing such patience and understanding to all of her children- especially those that sometimes needed a little extra of both. Whenever her own children were home sick, they will always remember how she would take such good care of them. June made great hot lunches and breakfasts. She would always welcome everyone and made them feel right at home. Whenever a thunderstorm popped up, she would have all of the children come in and sit down together in one room, as she had a very protective nature. You could always find June either watching Nascar, beauty pageants, HGTV, or engaged in one of the many other hobbies that she loved: growing flowers and tending her garden, embroidery, reading all of the Home & Garden magazines, decorating, or garden-canning.

To cherish her memory she leaves behind her daughter, Tammy L. Schoeder (Dwayne Donovan); son, Larry E. Rosson (Perty); son-in-law, Bobby Sharp; brother, John W. Carver of Orange, Va.; sisters, Doris Wilshire (Charles) of Colonial Beach, Va., and Judy Rowe of Fishersville, Va.; grandchildren, Steve Rosson (Christa Schmitt), Christina Rosson, Robert Sharp (Lynda), Paul Sharp, Mitchell Schroeder (Kayla), and Codey Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Nina Rosson, Keegan Sharp, Liam Sharp, Aven Joy Sharp, Garrett Sharp, Kimber Schroeder, and Colson Schroeder; along with many other extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville with visitation one hour prior. Graveside service will immediately follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa, Virginia.
