Marvin Gibson Jones

Marvin Gibson Jones, 92, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at Augusta Health.

He was born October 20, 1931 in Montgomery County, VA, a son of the late Allen Showalter Jones and Cora (Brumfield) Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Lois (Blankenship) Jones; four sons, Michael (Kathy), Gary (Tracy), Eric (Carmen) and Scott (Jennifer); six grandchildren, Aimee, Ryan, Tyler, Cydnee, Grace and Blake; and one great-grandchild, Jett.

Mr. Jones was a founding and life member of the Christiansburg First Aid Crew, and life member of the Waynesboro First Aid Crew. 

He was a 59 year Mason of the Lee Lodge #209 AF & AM in Waynesboro, VA, and longtime member of Acca Shrine Temple and Acca Hillbilly Unit.

He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:45 PM Thursday at McDow Funeral Home, followed by Masonic Rites. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery, 501 S. Franklin Street, Christiansburg, VA at 11:00 AM Friday, officiated by Rev. Neal Turner.
