Mary Tussing Burke

Mary Tussing Burke, 97 of Culpeper, formally of Rochelle, Va. passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Our Father’s House in Culpeper, Va. She was born on April 16, 1927 to the late Printz William Tussing and Beatrice Lee Tusing Tussing. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin B. Burke; brothers, Frank, Darious, and Robert Tussing; sisters, Zelma Covington and Ethel Tussing.

Mary was known for her hospitality, ginger snaps, and her famous applesauce cake with caramel icing.

The family and friends wish to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Our Father’s House for their kindness, support and outstanding care shown to Mary during her stay.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Minister Jane Sathe officiating. Interment will be private at Mt. Nebo Lutheran Church Cemetery. There will be a visitation one hour before the funeral, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
