Melvin Earl Reese

Melvin Earl Reese, “The Man, The Myth, The Legend” age 62, of Scottsville, VA gained his well-deserved angel wings on August 4, 2023 with his family by his side. He leaves behind his four daughters; Shannon, Heather, Ashley and Kristen Reese. Grandchildren; Jordan Richards, Karter Reese-Gaines, Gauge Jenkins, Heath Schwab, Kaylynn, Kole and Kameron Shifflett, Reagan, Kali, and Austyn Reese-Carver. Also surviving are his siblings, Wayne (Christy), Tammy Reese and Bonnie Tackett, Jim Thacker, and Lorenzo “Lobo” Drummond (Jarvette) as well as his lifelong friend Lisa Reese, many nieces and nephews, and his

“road dog” Buddy.

Earl was born January 29, 1961 to the late Melvin Lee Reese and Kathleen Mae Bowen. Also Preceding in death was his grandmother Louise Reese, nephew Davin Scott Brown and great nephew Bentley Wayne Reese.

Earl was known for his kindness, his generosity to children, and anyone in need. He loved spending time with family and friends. He loved impromptu trips, old cars and riding his motorcycle.

A memorial service in his honor will be held at Teague Funeral Service, Charlottesville, VA on August 19, 2023 at 11am with a celebration of life at Rives Park immediately following.

An inurnment will take place at Cannon Church Cemetery in La Crosse, VA at a later date.
