Michael Garrison
Michael Wade Garrison of Troy, VA passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024, at home. He was born on October 13, 1959 in Charlottesville, VA, the son of Lula Mae Melton and the late Leonard McKinley Garrison, Sr.
Mike had a love for nature, fishing, hunting, and family. He was the longtime farm manager of Edgehill Farm, where he lived with his wife and kids for many years. In his spare time you could find him on the Chesapeake fishing with friends, in the woods hunting, spending time with family, or making the drive to Maryland for some steamed crabs. He loved to feed and watch the birds, squirrels, and deer.
In addition to his father, Mike was preceded in death by two sisters: Janice Fay Garrison and Mary Ellen “Sissy” Goodwin. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Anna Gean Garrison; son Wayne Garrison, daughter Michelle Taylor (spouse Kevin Taylor), and son Brian Garrison; and grandson Logan Taylor. Mike is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Smith (spouse Dennis Smith) and brother Leonard Garrison, Jr. (spouse Teresa Garrison). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 5th at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church, 4492 Garth Road, Crozet VA 22932. Mike’s close friend Charles Rosson will speak. Family and friends are invited to gather for food and time together at the church hall afterward.

The family wishes to thank the nurses at Sentara Oncology for all of their care and support that made Mike’s journey a little easier. We are also grateful to Dr. Pritchard for his extraordinary kindness and attention to Mike’s care. Thank you to each of the many family and friends who have helped with arrangements, offered support, and reached out with kind words, comfort, and remembrances. We love you all.
