Mildred McNamara Trail
Mildred McNamara Trail of Charlottesville VA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 23, 2024.
She was born August 29, 1937 in Princeton, WV, the second daughter of Paul and Ruth McNamara. Her parents and her sister Betty McNamara Hall predeceased her.
Her greatest joy was always her family. Mrs. Trail leaves her beloved husband of 86 years, Howard Kelso Trail, her daughter, Pamela Ann Angelucci (Brad Quinlan), and her son Scott Howard Trail (Ann Ciaccio). Her pride and joy, her grandchildren Mark, Matthew, Mitchell, Lindsey, Sarah, Rebecca, and her step grandson Bryan. Her great grandchildren Jackson, Ava, Max, Cooper, and babies Hunter, Skylar and Stella.
Mrs. Trail attended public schools in Princeton, WV as well as Concord College, Athens WV. She finished her education in Charlottesville VA at UVA. Mr. and Mrs. Trail moved to Charlottesville following his military service where they made their home and raised their children. She was a business person who worked for the State of Virginia State Geologist; for the Region III Health, Education and Welfare Regional Office; the US Army Foreign Science and Technology Center, later the National Ground Intelligence Center.
She was active in several organizations such as the Christian Woman’s Club serving on the Board of Directors.
She was a member of First Christian Church where she enjoyed worshiping with her husband and friends. She served on the Baptism Committee, visited the sick in hospitals and praying with them, and preparing meals for the homebound. She also bought school supplies for underprivileged school children as well as Christmas gifts and clothing for them.
A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Trail on Saturday April 27th at 1:30. A reception will follow with refreshments for family and friends until 4:00pm, at Teague Funeral Home, 2260 Ivy Road Charlottesville VA.
