Mrs. Mavis S. Blankenship
Mavis "Me Me" Shifflett Blankenship, of Crozet Va passed away suddenly in her home Wednesday, July 26 to forever walk with the angels.
The daughter of the late Ellis Daniel and Anne Shifflett born in Greene County Va. She was an inspiring soul described as a loving, compassionate, understanding, family-oriented woman and one of the most beautiful souls one could ever meet. To the world she was one person but to us she was the world. Mavis retired from Acme Visible records in Crozet after many years thereafter assisting area Crozet families providing home health care.
She enjoyed participating for years with friends in the Womens Auxiliary for Western Albemarle Rescue Squad. Baking was a favorite past time, her delicious "Coconut cake " was served at all family gatherings and enjoyed. She loved being with her granddaughters and great granddaughter seeing them come in the front door to visit was her greatest joy. Her grandchildren tickled her soul with laughter. She looked forward to being with them whenever she could. She was joyous in the news of a second great grandchildren Brantley Kelcie arriving later this year. She had many friends in the Crozet Community including dear special lifetime friends Joyce and Clarence Morris. Mavis is preceded in death by her husband Noah "Bill" Blankenship, brothers James, Mervin, Edward, Norman and one sister Irene. Surviving are her daughter Michelle Morris and granddaughter Hannah Morris (Stanardsville); Granddaughter Haley Morris and great granddaughter Jacie Rae Allen (Fluvanna) Brother Roy; Sisters Stella, Mary and Joyce.
A graveside service and gathering for her final resting place will be planned on a future date.
