Nancy B. Ryder

Nancy B. Ryder, 91, was embraced by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 13, 2024. She was residing at Grace Health and Rehabilitation Center of Greene County.

Born in Orange County on January 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Roby L. Bledsoe and Jessica C. Bledsoe. She was predeceased by her husbands, Marshall F. Nicholson and Elmer H. Ryder; and grandchildren, Marshall E. Nicholson and Jesse L. Nicholson.

Nancy was retired from the United States Postal Service. For many years she was a member of the Orange Baptist Church and choir, then later was an active member of Beaverdam Baptist Church, and of Crossroads Community Church.

She is survived by her children, William C. Barnes III, Charles M. Barnes (Angie), Cary M. Nicholson (Carolyn); stepchildren, B. Keith Ryder, Karen R. Campbell, and Kathryn J. Ryder; grandchildren, M. Curtis Barnes (Kathleen), Jeremy M. Barnes (Terry), Chris M. Barnes, Courtney Adams (Robbie), and William C. Barnes IV (Ashley); along with numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Rhoadesville Baptist Church Cemetery.
