Nellie Violet Snow Carver

The family of Nellie Violet Snow Carver, 96, of Charlottesville, VA, is saddened to announce her passing on March 15, 2025.

Nellie was born February 4, 1929, in Greene County, Virginia, to the late Rueben Snow and Emma Lam Snow.

She retired from Frank Ix and Sons after 40 years, after retirement she went on to work for Sam's Club part time.

Nellie is preceded in death by the father of her children Rueben Carver, sons Michael and Donald Carver, daughter Mildred McDaniel, brothers Jonah, Otis, Ernest, Elmer, and Joseph Snow, Lertie, Willie and Welford Breeden, sisters Lillian Snow, Pansy Baugher, Peggy Clarkson, and Katherine Morris.

Nellie leaves to cherish her memory a sister Rozelia "Sug" Shifflett, son Gregory Carver, daughters Sharon (Bobby) Sapin, Sandy Hopfensperger, and fiance' Timmy Kerns, son in law James McDaniel, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Nellie enjoyed family gatherings, good food, being with her children and grandchildren. She also loved dancing the night away at the local Moose Lodge and hanging out with her lifelong friends.

One of Greg's fondest memories is having his mother live with him for many years. She will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held on Thursday March 27, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery 1701 Chesapeake St. Charlottesville, VA, followed by a Graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery.
