Nicholas Ronald Iorio

Nicholas Ronald Iorio, 77, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Center for Acute Hospice Care in Charlottesville Virginia after a long illness.

Native to New Jersey, Nick was born on June 6, 1947 to the late Vincent and Anna (Varsalona) Iorio.

Nick received a bachelor degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a masters degree from Purdue University both in the field of Metallurgy and Material Sciences. He worked for 36 years for Exxon Mobil in Florham Park and Clinton, New Jersey as a Metallurgical Engineer and later as the Environmental Compliance Officer. After his retirement, Nick worked diligently for 10 years serving on the Board of Directors of his community, Canal Walk in Somerset, NJ as treasurer and then president.

Nicholas leaves behind his loving wife, Lorri Anne (Leclerc) Iorio; his sons Michael Iorio (Ashley) and Stephen Iorio (Eileen); his daughter Amy Cochran (Darian) and 7 grandchildren; Lauren and Leslie Iorio; Sean, Olivia and Sophie Iorio; Madeline and Brayden Cochran.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, 401 Alderman Road, Charlottesville, Virginia 22903. The family will receive guests for 1 hour prior the mass at the church. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nicholas’ honor to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300 Charlottesville, VA 22911.
