Norman Lee Morris

Norman Lee Morris, 93, passed away on May 14, 2024 at a local hospital following a brief illness. Born February 16, 1931 in Charlottesville, VA, he was the son of Robert S. Morris and Lillian F. Dunn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Henrietta “Polly” Morris and a dear sister, Rachel M. Jenkins. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Batten Roberts, daughter Sherry Dawn Graves and son Robert Scott Graves (Doris), granddaughters Sherri Graves Roberts (Dustin) and Kelly Lynn Graves (John) and two great granddaughters. He is also survived by his brother, Newton S. Morris, nieces Doris J. Valenti and Carol A. Koestner, numerous other beloved nieces and nephews and his cat and companion, Baby. Norman proudly served in the United States Air Force and later retired from Acme Visible Records. He was a faithful and long-time member of Belmont Baptist Church where he held numerous positions throughout the years. He lived a life filled with love for God, his family, friends and his church. He was a lifetime caregiver, providing devoted care to countless family and friends. A special thank you is extended to long-time friends and honorary sister and brothers, Becky Bowers, Greg Hutchinson and Bobby Banks. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm at Hill & Wood Funeral Home, Charlottesville. Funeral services will be held at Belmont Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:00 am with Rev. Greg Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.
