Patricia Hurley

October 25, 1927 - February 20, 2025

Patricia Hurley passed peacefully at home on February 20, 2025. She was born in Charlottesville, Virginia to William Clyde and Virginia Norford. Pat attended Lane High School and then Mary Washington College before obtaining a degree in Education from the University of Virginia. It was at UVA where she met her future husband, James Hurley, who was attending law school at the University after serving in the Pacific during WWII. She taught school until her marriage when they relocated to New York where James began his law practice. They eventually moved to Miami permanently in 1960 where James began working at the law firm now known as Fowler White Burnett. Pat spent much of her time supporting her husband’s work as an attorney for the local cruise industry as well as his position as Honorary Counsel for Norway including hosting the visit of King Olav V to Miami in 1982 In her final days, Pat was greatly comforted by the care of her loving attendants Ann, Marjorie, Marie and Wooline. Pat is survived by her son, Jim (Kathy) and her granddaughters Katie (K.C.) and Shannon.

Burial will take place in Charlottesville, Virginia where she will be laid next to her husband
