Purnell James Johnson, Sr.

On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, Purnell James Johnson, Sr. died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Purnell was born on November 12, 1933, to the late Fred and Willie Ann Carter Johnson. He was preceded in death by his son Purnell, Jr. and his siblings Nettie Johnson, Robert Johnson, Lois Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Earl Johnson and his twin Ophelia Brinson.Purnell is survived by his children Deborah Johnson of Spotsylvania, VA, Brenda (Nathaniel) Feggans of Charlottesville, VA, Dorothy Jordan of North Garden, VA, Felicia Johnson of Spotsylvania, VA, and LaDonna (Jeffrey) Louderback of Esmont, VA. Purnell leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren and great grandchildren Kevin Jordan (Garrett), Erika Johnson (Enasia and Arriana), Leslie Jordan (Preston), Ashly Louderback (Ashton and Jayden), Jeffrey and Demetris Louderback, Jr. (Jeremiah), Kenneth Johnson, Justin Johnson, and Kara Johnson; and his brother William (Mary) Johnson, former wife and friend Joyce Scott Johnson, and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
