Randolph F. Phillips
Randolph F. "Buzzy" Phillips, age 80, of Zion Crossroads, passed away on March 21, 2024 at home, surrounded by his family.
Born on May 6, 1943 in Orange County, he was the son of the late Granville and Inez Phillips.
Buzzy was in the United States Navy for 4 years, and had retired from AT&T after his career of 38 years as a technician. In retirement, Buzzy became a skilled maker of sawdust that somehow became beautiful furniture and other items.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley B. Snyder; stepdaughter, Sharan Collier (Frank); daughters, Dawn Crawford (Steven) and Sandra Phillips (Paul McClung Jr.); sisters, Anita Edwards (Bob), Virginia Utz (Coleman) and Florence Simmers; 8 nieces and nephews; 7 grandchildren; 10 (and a half, due in July) great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Buzzy will be missed for his ability to talk to almost anyone, his cheesecakes, puzzles and his love of his cat, Molly.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville.
A graveside service will be held at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
