Rebecca Darlene Bishop

Rebecca "Darlene" Bishop, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 5th, 2024 at the age of 66.Darlene was born August 10, 1957 in Charlottesville, Virginia, to the late Edward J and Susan B Marks. Darlene had a zest for life and a passion for many hobbies. She found solace while tending to her beautiful flower gardens, expressing her creativity through arts and crafts, and creating lasting memories while camping with her family and friends. Darlene had a true love for home cook southern dishes and seafood, and her culinary skills were appreciated by all who were fortunate enough to taste her delicious dishes. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Edward R. "Winky" Marks. Father-in-law David L. Bishop, Sr. Brother-in-law Timmy W. Bishop, Sr. Darlene is survived by her husband of 43 years David L. Bishop, Jr. Four children Kevin E. Marks (Lauren) of Waynesboro, Brandy Hunt (Raymond) of Charlottesville, Dana L. Bishop of Scottsville, and Jason L. Bishop of Scottsville. Darlene is survived by her brother David K. Marks (Sandi) of Fluvanna, mother-in-law Shirley Bishop of North Garden, sister-in-law Linda L. Bishop (Timothy) of Fluvanna, brother-in-law Stanley F. Bishop (Beth) of Scottsville, and brother-in-law Dennis A. Bishop of North Garden. Numerous nieces and nephews that thought the world of her and she thought the world of them. Four grandchildren, Cody M. Bishop, Ciara N. Hunt, Jayden M. Marks, and Nora K. Marks. Family will receive friends and family, Monday June 10, 2024 at Teague Funeral Home Ivy Road. From 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service Tuesday June 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m at Teague Funeral Home Ivy Road, with Rev. Waren Dawkins officiating with interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.Family would like to extend a special "thank you" to DaVita of Charlottesville and all of the nurses who cared for her.
