Richard Bruce Napier

Richard Bruce Napier, son of Emmett S. Napier and Helen Lewis McCauley, born August 9, 1930, passed away at the age of 93 on August 31, 2023. Preceded in death are his brothers and sisters, Emmett, William, James, Josephine, ‘Hugh Blaine, Robert, Frances, Lorraine

and his son Jeffrey Napier.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Jean Napier, daughter Theresa (Tessie) Bickel and her husband Randy, sister Lucy Gentry, grandchildren Carla Bickel, Lance Bickel (Chrissy) and great granddaughter Teddy Alexandria. He also leaves behind his many nieces and nephews that loved him very much.

During his long life, he accomplished too many things to fit in writing. He served as a front line Army Sargent in the Korean War, was an accountant for Pepsi for many years, had a Christmas tree farm in Covesville, VA, loved being outside chopping wood, gardening, and trimming Christmas trees.

As a lifelong member of the Cove Presbyterian church, his life will be celebrated their Wednesday, September 6, 2023 with a visitation at 11am, service at noon, reception to immediately follow and then a graveside service at the Napier family cemetery.
