Robert Hunter Rose

Robert Hunter Rose, age 87, of Troy, Virginia passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born September 8, 1936, in King George County, VA, to the late Henry Hunter Rose and Alberta Shelton Rose.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Barbara Ann Hornbeak, Henry T. Rose, Jerry L. Rose, and Betty Jean Rose. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Beatrice Steffey Rose; Children, Carin Rose Boone, Debra Rose Gaspa, Gary Hunter Rose (Helen); Siblings, Ellis T. Rose (Pat), and Joyce D. Nave; Grandchildren, Ryan Christopher Boone (Amy), Megan Lindsay Boone, Bobby Neil Bowman IV, Tyree Young, Satasha Amia Jackson (William).

Robert enjoyed his time in Alaska, serving our country in the U.S. Army, followed by employment with the A&P Grocery Company until retirement. He enjoyed spending his days golfing, vacationing, spending time with friends, attending church (The Point), eating at his favorite restaurant (Aberdeen Barn), watching Fox News and sports (UVA and the Commanders), and most importantly spending time with his beloved family.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at Teague Funeral Home, 2260 Ivy Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903. A second visitation will be held at Teague Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Pastor Gabe Turner will officiate. A brief interment will be held at Historyland Memorial Park, 11227 James Madison Pkwy, King George, VA 22485, following the services on Wednesday.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Mark A. Lepsch, Dr. William Paul Skelton, Dr. Christopher K. Luminais, and the phenomenal nursing care team at the Emily Couric Cancer Center.
