Rose Nicholson Raines

Rose Nicholson Raines, 80, of Orange died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at her home in Roanoke. Rose was born on June 13, 1943 in Graves Mill Va. and was the daughter of the late Clifton Nicholson and Florine Breeden Nicholson. Rose is also predeceased by her husband Vernon R. Raines; a son Randy Raines; a son-in-law David White; a brother Kemper Nicholson; and a sister Sallie Brown, and closest friend Janice Shifflett.

Rose was a member of the Abundant Life Fellowship Church, and vice president of Rock & Raines Company. Rose loved her family, working outside in her flowers, and her ducks.

Rose is survived by her daughter Pamela Raines White of Goodview, VA; a daughter-in-law Donna Raines of Gordonsville, VA; six grandchildren Kelsi Holland, Hali Miller, Calli White, Austin White, Ryan White, and Jonathan Raines; three great grandchildren Kyleigh Raines, Aubree Holland and Carter Holland.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, January 1, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Ruckersville Cemetery, Pastor Dwane Pugh will officiate. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
