Ruth Callahan Merryman

Ruth Gallahan Merryman, 88 of Spotsylvania, Va. passed at her daughter’s home in Madison, Va. on Friday, March 22, 2024. She was born on July 1, 1935 to the late Mack Clarence Gallahan and Beatrice Mary Brown Gallahan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Henry Merryman; brothers, Leroy Gallahan and Boyd Ashton Gallahan, Ray Gallahan; and sisters, Nora Virginia Clark and Hilda Brooks.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Anne M. Self and husband Donnie of Madison; sons, Floyd Henry Merryman, Jr. and wife Kerri of Culpeper, Paul Lee Merryman and wife Karen of Amherst, Allen Wayne Merryman and wife Sharon of Madison, David Nelson Merryman and friend Loretta of Madison, and Ricky Felton Merryman and wife Lisa of Spotsylvania; brother, Roger Gallahan of Louisa; sisters, Barbara Gallahan of Cartersville, Va., Katty Lloyd of Louisa, and Allie Lena Simmons of Nashville, Tn; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 29, 2024 at New Life Baptist Church, 12302 Alum Springs Road, Culpeper Va. with Pastor Russell Biber officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church.
