Sandra L. Weakley
Sandra L. Weakley of Orange, Virginia, went to be with the Lord in her heavenly home on the morning of January 31, 2024. Sandra’s valiant fight with breast cancer was filled with unwavering faith, resilience, and a deep desire to live life to the fullest. She openly shared details of her courageous journey and became an inspiration to so many. Despite facing physical challenges, she met each day with strength and determination. Sandra had an undisputable love for her family. She considered herself to be the luckiest woman in the world to have found the love of her life, David. Her children, and grandchildren, were the lights of her life and her greatest joys. She touched the hearts of so many with an overflowing amount of love and selflessness. Sandra had a network of friendships spanning multiple states that she could count on for support and in turn, who she supported. Her touch was felt by many, and loss will be felt by many more.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, David Weakley; her daughter Lauren Wilcox (Jake); her son Mathew Hillquist (Kyra); her stepchildren Jacob and Kayla Weakley; her grandsons Jaxson and Calvin; her mother Martha Liggan; her sisters Tammy Reams (Mark) and Lisa Cannon; her nieces Christina Reams (Ryan) and Samantha Folkes (Stephen); several cousins and many devoted friends. Sandra was preceded in death by her father Lloyd Liggan Jr; her brother Eric Liggan; her maternal grandparents Branch and Grace Wilkinson; and her paternal grandparents Lloyd Sr and Hazel Liggan.
A Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 16, 2024 at Cool Spring Baptist Church – 9283 Atlee Station Road, Mechanicsville. Family and friends are invited to fellowship at the church following the service. If you would like to contribute a dish to the fellowship, please reach out to a family member. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Come As You Are Ministry in Montpelier, VA in her memory. Sandra devoted much of her time to this ministry and felt it was a part of her purpose in life. You can bring donations to the celebration service or send them directly to the ministry (non-perishables, blankets, coats, toiletries, etc. or a monetary donation).
“Every single person who comes in or out of your life is part of your divinely chosen path. Think about that for a moment. That means every one of you were chosen by God to be in my life and I in yours”.
