Sarah Ann Rivera

May 23, 1974 - March 29, 2026

Sarah Ann Rivera, age 51, of Orange, Virginia, passed away on March 29, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend whose humor and warmth touched everyone who knew her.

Sarah was born on May 23, 1974, at Mayday Hospital in Croydon, Surrey, England, to Patricia Cumberbatch and the late Preston Cumberbatch. She spent her early years in England before moving to Miami at the age of 12, where she would later build her life and raise her family. Eventually, she made her home in Orange, Virginia, where she remained for many years.

A dedicated and compassionate woman, Sarah pursued higher education and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Science. She went on to serve others through a meaningful career in nursing, where she was known for her kindness, patience, and unwavering care for those in need.

Above all, Sarah’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving mother, Patricia Cumberbatch of Orange; her sister, Rachael of London, England; her brother, Preston Henser and his wife Claire of England; her two sons, Israel Rivera and his wife, Kaitlin, and Justin Rivera and his wife, Alex.

She was a proud and devoted grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren: Sebastian, Ariel (affectionately known as “Doodlebug”), Archie, and baby Arlen. Her love for her grandchildren was boundless, and they were the light of her life.

Sarah is also survived by her brother-in-law, Phil, her best friend and former partner, Fredo, and many cherished cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends across both the United States and the United Kingdom. She shared lifelong bonds with her childhood best friends, Nadine and Elaine, who remained close to her heart no matter the distance.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing her love will remain with us always.

The Service will be at Preddy’s in Orange on Friday, 10th April 2026, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Everyone who would like to come and say their final goodbyes are welcome.

Flowers and cards are welcome.

Condolences may be sent to the family at Preddy’s Funeral Home,
