Shirley B. Sparks

Shirley B. Sparks 86 of Gordonsville passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 in Charlottesville. She was born October 5, 1937 in Albemarle County and was the daughter of the late John Emory and Mary Brown Baber Wood. She was also preceded in death by her former husbands, Robert Eugene Brown III and Clarence Conard Sparks; brothers, John Wood and Pete Wood; and sisters, Barbara Via and Mary Wood.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Hawthorne and husband Jim, Lynne B. Blankenship all of Orange, and Annette Adams and husband Reed of Fredericksburg; step daughters, Sue Carver of Gordonsville, Martha Mowbray and husband Greg of Scottsville; step sons, Donny Sparks and wife Lexa of Wisconsin, Pete Sparks and wife Debbie and Jeffrey Sparks all of Orange; brother, Tilman David Wood and wife Shirley of Troy; fourteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Unionville Christian Church with interment in the church cemetery conducted by Pastor Terry Jewell. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 11am to 12 noon, one hour before the service at the church.
