Stanley Jerome Early

Stanley Jerome Early, 73 of Stanardsville, Va., passed away on August 26, 2024, in the comfort of his home. He was born on November 12,1950, the youngest of seven kids to the late Thomas D. Early and Mattie Belle Brock Early. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Nancy Hawkins (James), Jane Williams (Welford), Shirley Terrell (James), and Marion Wells. Sister-in-law Lois Brock and Brother in laws Marvin and Carlton Williams.

Stanley is survived by the love of his life, Helen Laverne Earley; three daughters, Jevanda Collier, Kimberly Williams, Elishia Early; two sons, Travis Jerome Earley and Stanley “Lamont Earley”; brother, Benjamin Early; sister, Edith Early; sister in laws, Carolyn Harris (Aubrey), Vivian Frye, Gwendolyn Williams and Wanda Dillard (Greg); twelve grandchildren, Destini Bortner, Darius Fitzgerald, Diamond Bortner, Nathaniel “Nate” Gibson, Donyae’ Tompkins, Dasia Tompkins, Tahron Early, Isaiah Williams, California “Kali” Early, Leah Williams, Angel and Nevaeh Gray; two great-grandchildren, Kailani “Lala” Jennette, and Percy “KJ” White and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Stanley retired from the Greene County Transit after many years of service to care for his wife. Stanley was private man who enjoyed classic cars, sitting on the couch browsing cars on the Ipad and watching TV. There wasn’t Barrett Jackson or Mecum car auction that he missed.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brooke Bostic and the Medi Home Hospice team for their service.
