Sterling Lee Thomas, Sr.

On Thursday July 6, 2023, Sterling Lee Thomas Sr was called by God to rest in peace. He was born November 17, 1922, to Alford and Pauline Thomas.

Sterling Sr attended Richmond Public Schools then he went on to join the US Army where he fought in World War II. He was a truck driver for many years, after retiring he worked as a custodial worker for AT&T and Johnston Willis Hospital. He was well known and a loving person. He loved cars, watching western movies, family feud, and putting puzzles together. His favorite football team was Dallas Cowboys.

Sterling Sr., was preceded in death by his loving wife Lillian Thomas, his son Sterling Lee Thomas Jr, Parents Alford and Pauline Thomas, two sisters Gladys Jones and Gertrue Thomas. He leaves to cherish in memory four grandchildren: Sterling Lee Thomas III (Boom), Florence Brown-White, Brian Wright, and Demetrise Thomas (Thumberlina). Twelve great grandchildren Karmica Fox, Sterling Stokes, Latisha Cunningham, Michael Brown, Vershae White, Sharoya White, Janae White, Tyreck Wright, Armoni Stokes, Khloe Wright, Kamden Wright, and Rah'quan Pryor. Two great great grandchildren: Zaire Cunningham and Armiyah Nelson. Two nephews Luke and Harry Jones, two nieces Goldie Jones Robertson and Gladys Jones (Precious. One great-nephew James Jones (Ed) and a host of friends and relatives amongst them Regional Barbee.
