Tylitha Eunice Rogers Banks
Tylitha Eunice Rogers Banks February 13, 2025 Tylitha Eunice Rogers Banks, of Madison, Va, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025. She was born in 1947 to Lowe Fessor Rogers and Cynthia Lou Davis Rogers. She was the proud mother of Lowe Banks (Sherri), Dennis Banks (Jessica), Tony Banks, Terence Banks (Megan), Celine Gaskins (Matthew) and Victoria MorningStar (DJ).
She was the proud grandmother of Cornell Banks, Ashley Banks, Christopher Banks, Alexander Banks, Ashton Banks, Caydon Banks, Toni Banks, Khalin Banks, Dallas Battaile-Gilbert, Gavin Battaile-Gilbert, Liam Battaile-Banks, Isaiah Gaskins, Maliyah Gaskins, Michelle Roll, Natalie Roll, and Sabrina MorningStar.
Eunice was sister to Agnes Louise Jones, Gladys Lockett, Lorenzo Rogers, Walter Rogers, Johnny Rogers, and Jackie Rogers. In addition to the above she had many extended family members, friends and chosen family members who she loved dearly.
While many knew her as Eunice, she was more often called mom, mama, auntie, grandma and Gaga. She spent her life caring for not only her children but also her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She welcomed the spouses and significant others of her children with open arms and adopted them as her own. She shared love, kindness, hugs and food with everyone who stepped through her door.
Eunice was a proud and lifelong resident of Leon, located in the northern part of Madison County. She loved her hometown and her hometown loved her. She was a passionate supporter and member of the Madison Senior Center. She only missed time there to take care of her grandson. Her friends and family at the Senior Center named her Senior Queen in 2019 and she was honored in the Madison County parade and at the fair. The Senior Center gave her joy, purpose and connection. When illness kept her from being a regular at the center, her friends there always called to check on her.
She attended the Culpeper and Orange Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was both known and loved by many in the congregation.
As recently as October, she attended her grandson’s wedding, dressed to impress. Prior to this, she enjoyed seeing her local family and her Ohio cousins at her son’s wedding in August. In May of 2024, she had her toes in the sand on Florida’s gulf coast while celebrating her granddaughter's High School graduation. She loved her trips to Florida, Georgia and Ohio and she derived immense joy from family trips and events.
It was important to Eunice that she had a proper celebration and not a sad going away. She would have loved to see you in happy colors, semi formal or formal. Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at:
