Valarie Diane Giles

Valarie Diane Giles, daughter to the late Hester Mae Hoffman and Walter Edward Rouse was born April.30, 1961 in Charlottesville, VA. She departed from this life on Wednesday March 27,2024, at home surrounded by her loving family,

Valarie was educated and graduated from the Orange County Public School System. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she gave her life to Christ at a young age. ln her twenties and thirties, Valarie worked in Washington DC, starting out in banking before transitioning to rotes in law firms. Upon relocating to Charlotte, NC in her forties she resumed her career in legal offices where she made a significant impact. Valarie not only made lasting friendships, but also became an integral part of the Charlotte community forming close bonds that endure to this day.

ln addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother (Momma) Irene Lewis Holiday, grandfather John Holliday, and sister Gwendolyn Carter.

Valarie leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Irene Nicole Pointer (Nikki)of Orange VA; two grandchildren, Shayna Putten and King Hicks of Orange VA; number one nephew/son, Phillip Carter and wife Jeanette Carter of Suffolk VA; nephew Brandon Carterof Charlottesville, VA; one aunt, Shirley Ann Holliday of Orange VA' one uncle, John Holliday ll and wife Judy Holliday of Orange VA; one sister, Pamela Dyson of Washington DC; three brothers Derrick Rouse, Anthony Rouse and Jesse Hoffman of Orange VA.; cousin, Christopher Williams; honorary daughter Jackie Nesbit; honorary grandsons Jack and Oliver Nesbit. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also her extended loving family which consists of best friend, Nita Dent and her Charlotte ,North Carolina family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April. 27,2024, at 1pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 11229 Kendall Rd., Orange VA 22960. Preddy Funeral Home in Orange, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
