Vernon Lee Shifflett

Vernon Lee Shifflett, 90, of North Garden, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. He was born on April 18, 1934 to the late Jessie James and Kattie Knight Shifflett.In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by two brothers and 5 sisters and his beloved wife of 54 years, Jackie Craddock Shifflett. He is survived by one sister, Doris Shifflett.Vernon and Jackie were parents to five children, Michael Shifflett (Patricia), Linwood Shifflett (Teresa), Cyndi Oliva (Michael), Devy Birckhead (Tony), Beth Shifflett and Devin Shifflett (son/grandson). He was blessed by 13 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren. Vernon was raised in Greene County, and worked for Frank IX and Son, Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, and Charlottesville Wrecker Service. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed raising horses, cattle and chickens. A Celebration of Life will be held at Belmont Baptist Church on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 3:00. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. A reception will be held afterwards in the fellowship hall for all to celebrate and share memories of Vernon.
