Virginia Beatrice Dodson

After a courageous battle with cancer, Virginia Beatrice Dodson, 85 of Oak Park, Va. gained her angel wings and went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2024 at her home. Virginia was born on January 10, 1939 to the late Delmar and Lyona Seale. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Melvin Dodson and Michael Dodson; and brother, Gene Seale.

Virginia loved to cook, bake, shop, and garden. She loved being with her family. Virginia worked at Wrangler for 35 years and Cintas for 17 years before she retired at the age of 79. She was a loving, caring, generous human being and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Henry Lewis (Huckleberry) Dodson of Oak Park; daughter, Patricia Ellerbe and “Happy” of Novum; and sons Troy Dodson (Gwen) of Twymans Mill and Brian Dodson (Melissa) of Oak Park; special daughter-in-law, Tammy Dodson of Madison; grandchildren, Jason Dodson, Daniel (Boo) Ellerbe, Christopher Dodson, Logan Dodson, Jeremy Dodson, Megan Dodson, Bradley Dodson; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Rudy, Joe, Brandon, Airana, Seth, Amelia, Violet, and Grayson; great-great-grandchildren, Mason, Paisley, Brantley, and Weston; sisters, Mary Ann Cave of Stanley, Va., Phyllis Leavell (Stevie) of Culpeper; brother, Wayne Seale (Barbara) of Orange. Virginia leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Pastor Jeff Tucker officiating.  Interment will be in Madison Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 2 hours before the service, from 10:00 am to12:00 pm. at the funeral home.
