Virginia Katherine Vaughan was born in Madison County, Virginia on August 18, 1927. 

She is survived by a great-aunt, Goldie Mildred Brooks, two sons, Bruce Dyer (Julia) and Eric Vaughan (Kathy), two daughters, Judy Sykes and Juanita Roush, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Godlove and a brother, Dewey Lee Shifflett and her caregiver and friend of 6 years, Mary Long.

She is pre-deceased by her former husband, Jack Vaughan, two children, Sue Vaughan and Jackie Vaughan, her mother, Susie Shifflett, her father, Early Fincham, her step-father, Dewey Shifflett, sisters, Nina Dyer, Dorothy Williams, Patricia Green, and a brother. Phillip Shifflett.

She was a nurse at Dogwood Village for many years and lived there the last year of her life. She went to meet her Lord on the morning of December 19, 2023 at 96 years old.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Orange Assembly of God Church at Noon on Saturday, December 23rd with an hour of visitation from 11:00 to 12:00 noon. Interment will be held at the Shiloh Cemetery at Criglersville. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
