Warren Arthur Rollins
Warren Arthur Rollins, 97 of Culpeper, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at The Culpeper. He was born on June 15, 1926 in Amissville, Va. to the late Warren Arthur Rollins and Ora A. Freeman Rollins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Celeste Rollins Yelken and her husband, Paul T. Yelken; and a nephew, Marvin Allen Capano.
Warren attended Rappahannock School House and graduated from Culpeper County Schools. He worked hard from an early age of 15 after moving to Culpeper from Amissville. Early on he worked part time farming for local farmers and working at the Culpeper Sawmill during his final years of school. Before graduating school, Warren secured a job at Safeway where he worked his way up to assistant manager for a total of 40 (plus) years. He loved conversation, making people laugh and spending time with family. Warren made a friend wherever he went. After retirement, Warren wanted a way to occupy his time and stay active. He joined the Culpeper Volunteer Fire Department in 1994 and volunteered his time until 2018. Even after a partial paralyzing injury in 2018, Warren went on living life with a fighting spirit and positive attitude. Warren never gave up living life to the fullest.
He is survived by his nephews, Matthew Capano and significant other, Becky Rosenbert of Cape Cold, Ma. and Michael T. Yelken, Sr. and fiancée’ Teresa Seay of Culpeper, Va.; great-nephew, Michael T. Yelken, II; great-niece, Nicole R. Williams and husband Ben; great-great-nieces, Natalie Williams and Willow Williams; great-great-nephews, Beau Williams and Weston Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00m on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison, Va. The interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 11:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home.
