William Stanley Brown Jr., “Buster”

Departed this life on Thursday, August 10, 2023, in Charlottesville VA.

He was born on November 8, 1951, in Charlottesville, VA., He was the firstborn of the late William Stanley Brown Sr., and Noble Ann Brown-Wood. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hunter G. Brown and Susie D. Spears-Brown of Charlottesville, and maternal grandparents, Munyon Brown Jr., and Julia Brodie-Brown.

He worked at the University of Virginal Medical Center in Environmental Services for 38 years before retiring in 2013. After retirement, he loved working in his garden and spending time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his guardian angel and caregiver, Mary Wells (James) of Charlottesville, VA, sisters, Joculyn Napper, of Charlottesville, VA., Margo Jackson (Richard), Ivy, VA., Dr. Angela Anderson, Oklahoma City, OK., Darlene Lewis (Charles), Madison, VA., Virginia Grayson (Charles), Gordonsville, VA., Christine Alston (Henry), Jacksonville, FL., Brenda Stewart, Glenda Stewart, Washington D.C., and Carolyn Lockhart (Otis), Richmond, VA. Brothers, Larry Brown, Charlottesville, VA, William “Bud” Mallory, Standardsville, VA, and Stanley Brown, Charlottesville, VA, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin McConnell, Dr. David Chesler, Alexander Hendrick, N.P., and caregiver, Greg Ellis.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at the Holly Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA.

Viewing from 2:00- 6:00 p.m. on Friday at McClenny Funeral Home, 600 Henry Ave. #4557, Charlottesville, VA.
