William Todd Wilmer
William Todd Wilmer, 60, of Crozet, VA, passed away peacefully at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital on January 4, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Todd was born September 22, 1964, to Charles William and Alice Rebecca “Becky” Wilmer.
Todd is preceded in death by William Hawes and Hilda T. Wilmer, Oscar G. and Ethel K. Barnett - grandparents.
Todd is survived by his parents Charles William and Alice Rebecca” Becky” Wilmer of Charlottesville, sister Charlotte Lynn Wilmer of Charlottesville, son William Orrin “Liam” Wilmer of Ruckersville, nephew Joshua William Yager of Atlanta. His devoted girlfriend Tara Mielish of Crozet, and beloved dog Zoee-Piper.
After graduating from Charlottesville High School in 1983, Todd went to work at Barnes Lumber Yard where he worked for many years. He left there and went to work for Chuck Kennedy at Kennedy Electric where he became an electrician. He ended his career there when he was diagnosed with cancer and unable to work.
Todd was an avid hunter and fisherman; anyone that knew him knows that he was in his element and happy place on a river or ocean fishing with his buddy’s. He was a dedicated UVA fan who loved all sports. The “Redskins” were his favorite football team. He often said not the Commanders “Redskins”!! Let us not forget his favorite Bodo’s stinky bagel of pastrami and swiss with red onion.
Todd loved the traditions that have been passed down through the family for generations. Every Christmas morning there was going to be oyster stew and sharp cheddar cheese. One tradition that was also important to him was to never go out to dinner without a collared shirt on.
Todd was a Jokester, he often got in trouble at school for playing jokes on other kids, but that is who he was. He enjoyed life, loved having fun and making his friends laugh.

There will be a celebration of life for Todd on January 18, 2025, at 1pm at Crozet Sportsmen’s Club 894 Miller School Road Charlottesville, VA 22903 (in Crozet)
