Christina Johnson

- September 23, 2024

This tribute is dedicated to my loving mom and to my loving daughter, Christina, who truly lived everyday to the fullest.

Christina Kontee Johnson left with her angels to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Monday, September 23, 2024. She was born on May 14, 1977, to Oris Johnson and Theresa E. Lewis at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. She became an active member of the Union Baptist Church at an early age in Gordonsville, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Herman and Dorothy Lewis and her paternal grandparents Phillip and Lena Johnson, uncles Edward A. Lewis and Nathan H. Lewis.

Christina attended schools in Orange County Virginia and is a graduate of Orange County High School. She continued her education at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Over the years Christina excelled and loved her career choice in the Real Estate circle. Christina began her real estate career in 2000 at Residential Mortgage Corporation in Largo, MD, advancing from a successful loan officer to office manager and team lead at Mortgage Consultant for Life, also in Largo. She later obtained her real estate license, serving clients in Maryland and Washington, DC. After a successful tenure as a real estate agent with Samson Properties, Christina earned her broker's license and expanded her services to include property management, eventually owning and operating her own company, Next Home Management. In addition to her real estate accomplishments, Christina had a successful career as a Mortgage Servicing Analyst with Wells Fargo and later as a Senior Mortgage Compliance Examiner with Freddie Mac.

Christina was a blissful spirit and constantly poured into her family, friendships, and total strangers. She had an impactful imprint on everyone’s life and filled the room with her joyful laugh and smile. Beyond the precious accolades she earned, her best career was being a mom. Christina actively went to every dance recital, brought joy to every birthday, and had her hands stretched out for every hug needed. She provided everything and more for her only daughter or her “broke bestie” from what she likes to call her. Christina leaves her lifelong friends, who established a sisterhood and village for her. She will always be seen as the one true friend that’s hard to come by. She was truly adored and loved by everyone in every room, leaving a monumental legacy for the future.

Christina is survived by her daughter, London O. Johnson, Capital Heights, Maryland, her mother Theresa E. Lewis, Gordonsville, Virginia, her father Oris Johnson (Avis Bernadette step-mother), Upper Marlboro, Maryland, step-sisters Rhonda Johnson (Baltimore, Maryland), Angela Fasion (Washington, D,C.), Tammi Philson, Clinton, Maryland, Jessica Pollard, Clinton, Maryland, uncles Lawrence Vest, (Carol) Fredericksburg, Virginia, Dennis Lewis, Temple Hills, Maryland, Daniel Lewis (Gail) (Clinton, Maryland). Her Sister/Cousin Edith (Lanika and Justin Phillips) White Plains, Maryland, Deborah Lewis, (Gordonsville, Virginia) Charles Cooper, (Atlanta, Georgia) and a host of loving cousins and friends.

In closing, Christina’s love of people along with her outgoing personality and that infectious smile will always be remembered by both her family and many friends. She loved to shop and her special talent for decorating could always make any space into a comfortable and loving home.
