Delores Salzman Lynch
Delores Salzman Lynch, 88, of Charlotesville, VA passed peacefully on November 20th, 2023. She was born in Geneva, Nebraska in 1935 where she was raised by her parents Jacob Salzman and Henrietta Foltz along with her siblings. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Estes; her parents Jacob and Henrietta; her brothers Donald, Edward, Henry, and Fred; and her sisters Irene, Lillian, Henrietta, Katherine, and Elizabeth.
Delores spent most of her life in Geneva, Nebraska before moving to Charlottesville in1952 with her brother Eddie. It was at her job at Gleco Mills where she met Estes, who she would marry in 1954 back home in Geneva. The two of them lived in Charlottesville together where they raised their three children. Delores worked in admissions and personnel at UVA Hospital for over two decades. She lived a lovely life in Charlottesville where she spent a lot of time with friends and family, as well as her little dog Peanut, made quilts, and attended church as long as she was able– but her favorite music to listen to was always hymns.
Delores is survived by her son, Steven Estes Lynch (Becky) Charlottesville, Va; her two daughters Debra Jean Nelson (Jack) Waynesville, N.C., and Susan Diane Vest (Mark) Carrollton, Ga.; grandchildren Fentress Lynch and Lorelei Lynch, Alicia Rogers and Brian Moody, and Tiffany Cochran; as well as six great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hill & Wood Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday the 28th at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
