James Early Shipp

James Early Shipp, 95, of Gray, TN died on December 8, 2023 at Life Care Center of Gray. He is finally with “the most beautiful girl in the world” the love of his life, Nancy Via Shipp, his wife of 68 years who preceded him in death.

He was born on October 14, 1928 to the late Felix Rudolph Shipp and Lucille Early Eheart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Lewis Allen Wheeler Shipp and by his grandson Chris Hollifield.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Gittin and her husband Mike, Sandy Taylor and her husband Drew, and Sue Aurigema and her husband Jerry; six grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandaddy and Friend. Above all he loved his family and he loved traveling.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Hill & Wood Funeral Home with Clint Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.
