Velma Irene Shifflett

Velma Irene Shifflett, 83, died Wednesday August 2, 2023, at home. Born August 29, 1939, to the late Jack Shifflett and Mauda Pearl Morris Shifflett. She was happily married to her late husband, James Omie Shifflett, Sr. for 65 years. She was his “doll” and homemaker for all those many years and together they had 8 wonderful children.

She is survived by her sister, Doris Jean “Peggy” Cobb, three sons, James Omie Shifflett, Jr. And wife Diane, Kenneth Wayne Shifflett and wife Lisa, Roger Dale Shifflett, three daughters, Phyllis Ann Sykes and husband Bobby, Donna Marie Sipe and husband Ronnie, Crystal Renee Bare and husband Hubert, grandchildren, Kimberly Dawn Jacques, Ashley Elaine Shifflett, Katelyn Nicole Sykes, Christopher Ryan Sipe, Kamryn Lashaun Shifflett, Jessica Lynn Shifflett, Alyssa Nicole Sipe, Kody Aaron Sykes, Damien Chase Shifflett, Caleb Lee Sipe, Alayna Brooke Shifflett, Ethan Cole Sipe, Schoen Falciglia, and Hannah Falciglia and great-grandchildren, Kaden Lane Shifflett, Asher Cole Jacques, Emberlynn Grace Shifflett, Tanner Jack Sipe, Alden Cade Jacques, Adelyn Reece Fleming, and Corbin Luke Sipe.

She was also proceeded in death by husband, James Omie Shifflett, Sr., son, Melvin Ray Shifflett, daughter, Theresa Lynn Shifflett, great-granddaughter, Kinsley Ann Shifflett, and brother, James “Brother Boy” Shifflett.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Eheart Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
