Viola Christine Cook
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Viola Christine Cook, on November 18, 2024, at the age of 72. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and strength touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on December 3, 1952, in Charlottesville, VA, Viola Christine Cook, better known as Boogie, was known for her nurturing spirit, love of family, and her giving nature to others.
As a mother, she was the heart and soul of our family, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her unwavering support, wisdom, and love have shaped the lives of her children Allyson N. Cook, Cicely S, Cook, and Anthony D. (Tamesha) Cook, grandchildren: Natarya Cook, Darius Cook, Anthony Cook Jr. Adayia Cook, Adarian Cook, Aiden Cook, and Amarion Cook, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Boogie was a woman with a big heart, and had a passion for cooking, reading books, and watching all her favorite Tyler Perry shows and movies. More than anything she loved her family. Her ability to bring joy and comfort to those around her will never be forgotten. She found beauty in life's simple moments and taught us all the importance of compassion, hard work, and kindness.
She is survived by her two children: Allyson N. Cook of Fort Washington MD, and Anthony D.(Tamesha) Cook of Culpeper VA, seven grandchildren Natarya Cook, Darius Cook, Anthony Cook Jr. Adayia Cook, Adarian Cook, Aiden Cook, and Amarion Cook; siblings: David (Judy) Cook of Huddleston VA, Judith Gardner-Joseph of Philadelphia PA, Lisa Paige, Alvin Gardner, Ishmael Shabazz all of Gordonsville, VA., Charles Jackson, and Helen Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She was predeceased in death by her Mother Marion E. Cook, Father Malakai Jackson, daughter Cicely S. Cook, sisters Marion E Waller, Daisy Mae Jackson, and Janice Gardner, brothers Malakai Jackson Jr., and Benjamin Gardner.
A service in her honor will be held on November 30, 2024, at 11:00 am at Preddy’s Funeral Home 301 South Main Street Gordonsville VA 22942. The family welcomes all who wish to celebrate her life and offer condolences.

Viola (Boogie) will forever be remembered and loved. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
