William Edward Johnson

William Edward Johnson, of Spotsylvania, Va., went home to heaven on December 29th, 2023. He was born January, 1955 to his parents who preceded him in death, Maggie France (Creel) Short and Benjamin Blair Johnson. Bill leaves behind a large "chosen family" that will miss and remember him in so many ways. Rick & Shellby Knicely, Jack, Amanda, Joe, Sondra Anderson, Shane Griffith, Victoria & Leon Hull, Brandon Henshaw, Roxanne Stapleton, Mia Buckner, Dawn Tessier, Chelsey Baker, Latesha Johnson, Crystal Porter, Alicia Porter, Macey Leake, Lanette Hall, Megan Atkinson and Linda Bennett. 

Bill was also preceded in death by a brother; Larry Johnson and a sister; Dora Jean Mittan. 

Bill is survived by his siblings; Benjamin Johnson (Sheila), James Johnson (Linda), Gary Johnson, Mary Sirio (Steve), Joann Sholes (James), sister-in-law; Bonnie Johnson and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a service at Preddy Funeral Home in Orange on January 18th at 11am. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life at the American Legion in Orange from 12pm - 3pm.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers if you would like to contribute to the Memorial Garden we are building for Bill please send plants such as rose bushes, gladiolus bulbs or marigolds, all of Bill's favorites.
