Wilson "Shorty" Rives Norford

Wilson "Shorty" Rives Norford passed away at his home on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was 95 years old.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Elsie. He is survived by his daughters and their spouses: Sharon and Chip Southard (Keswick), Teresa and Stewart Lester (England); his grandchildren Tia Jones (Fredericksburg), and Jake and Wil Lester (England); his "adoptive daughter" Lee Ethel Butler, whom alongside with Jennifer Wood took exemplary care of him with love, kindness, compassion and patience during the last years of his life.

Shorty worked as a master mechanic at the local Chevrolet dealership for 55+ years.

The family welcomes friends from 5 to 7p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home Charlottesville. A funeral service will be Friday, December 8, 2023, at 2p.m. in the chapel at Hill and Wood Charlottesville.
